Shipping FAQ

Shipping FAQ

Everything a client needs to know about how a DYSKINESIAA piece reaches them, how long the wait is, and how the studio handles customs, returns, and exchanges. The atelier ships from Ivry-sur-Seine, just outside Paris, to clients on every continent.

How long is production before shipping?

DYSKINESIAA holds no inventory. Every piece is cast and finished after the order is placed. Standard production runs two to four weeks for collection pieces and four to six weeks for bespoke commissions. The atelier sends a status update at each stage, wax sculpted, casting underway, finishing complete, ready to ship. The wait is part of the object's value and the reason no piece is ever discarded.

What are the shipping times by country?

Once a piece leaves the atelier, expect two to three working days for France, three to five for the European Union, four to seven for the United Kingdom, five to seven for the United States and Canada, and seven to ten for Asia, Australia, and the rest of the world. Tracked services are used everywhere, and remote regions can add two to three days to these figures.

Do you provide tracking?

Yes. Every shipment is tracked end to end. The studio sends a tracking number by email the moment the parcel is collected from the atelier, and updates flow through the carrier's portal until the piece is signed for. For higher-value commissions the studio uses a signature-on-delivery service automatically. Tracking remains active for up to thirty days after delivery in case any post-arrival issue needs to be traced.

How do customs and duties work for US, UK, Asia?

Inside the European Union, no customs apply. Outside the European Union, the recipient is responsible for any local import duties or VAT. For the United States, packages under 800 dollars usually clear without duty. For the United Kingdom, VAT and a small handling fee apply. For Japan, South Korea, and most of Asia, duties depend on declared value. The studio always provides an honest commercial invoice so clearance is straightforward.

Do you offer express shipping options?

Yes. At checkout, clients can upgrade from the default tracked service to express courier, which typically halves the transit time. Express service uses DHL, FedEx, or UPS depending on destination, with full insurance and signature on delivery included. The upgrade is a flat fee added to the standard shipping charge. Choosing express does not shorten production time, only the post-atelier transit.

Is shipping insured?

Every DYSKINESIAA shipment is insured for its full declared value at no extra cost to the client. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, the studio handles the carrier claim and replaces the piece, either by recasting or by refund, at the client's choice. Insurance is the reason all shipments require a signature on delivery, the carrier needs proof of receipt before the policy closes.

What is your return policy?

Collection pieces can be returned within fourteen days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, for a full refund minus return shipping. Bespoke commissions are non-returnable because they are cast from the client's own anatomy and cannot be resold. Defective pieces are an exception, any manufacturing fault, bespoke or collection, is repaired or replaced at the atelier's expense regardless of how long the piece has been worn.

Can I exchange a piece?

Yes, within fourteen days for collection pieces. The client returns the original in its original packaging and the studio produces the replacement piece on the standard made-to-order schedule, two to four weeks. Any difference in price is settled in either direction. Exchanges are not offered on bespoke commissions, but a fresh bespoke order can always be placed if the first piece does not match expectations.

Can I cancel an order before it ships?

Yes. Cancellation is free of charge as long as the wax model has not yet been cast in silver. Once casting has begun, the silver and the labor are committed and the cancellation becomes a partial refund minus those costs. The studio confirms the casting date in writing, so clients know exactly when the cancellation window closes for their specific order.
